The College for Business
As the College for Business we help you find the right solution for your staff development needs; whether that’s accessing funding or supporting you with recruitment or professional development training. And because every business is different, our experienced staff deliver flexible, bespoke programmes. From entry to degree level we cover key business areas, including construction, engineering, health, logistics, business & professional services, hospitality and the creative industries. We’re also a leading provider of digital and green skills.
Apprenticeship Programmes
We currently have over 600 apprentices enrolled on foundation and higher level apprenticeships. They’re a brilliant way of channelling new talent and developing your existing workforce.
Our dedicated team can help you with every step of setting up your apprenticeship. Finding the right programme, recruiting the right person or people, enrolment and accessing funding. Programmes cover construction, engineering, health, hospitality, digital and professional services and our tutors have vast industry knowledge and experience. Training is delivered at both purpose-built campuses, in state-of-the-art classrooms, and in the workplace.
Apprenticeship Funding Explained
Funding is available for all apprenticeship training programmes either directly from the Government or through your apprenticeship levy. If your annual wage bill is less that £3m, the Government will contribute to the apprenticeship costs. If it’s over £3m, you can pay for an apprentice using your apprenticeship levy contribution. You can access the funds through your Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS) Account.
Recruiting Your Apprentice
Our recruitment service gives you access to thousands of graduates, and we also run a matching service for students applying directly to us for apprenticeships. We’ll work with you to understand the requirements of the role and provide an appropriate selection of candidates for interview. Extra guidance and support are available from the national apprenticeship recruitment service and our local partners.

Work Experience Placements
We equip students with the relevant skills and knowledge they need before they go on work placement. That way, they're prepared to make the most of the opportunity, gain confidence and benefit the business. An essential part of student development, we are committed to providing each student with a minimum of 16 hours on-the-job training. It improves their employability, helps them transition into the world of work and can often lead directly to a permanent position or higher-level apprenticeship.
